What is Civil Law?
Civil law is the name given to the branch of law that does not fall within the scope of another branch of law, such as public law, of the direct or indirect private relations of the state with each other or with individuals to a certain extent. Civil law is a branch of law that covers family and debt relations from birth to death. In civil law, also known as civil law; Economic issues such as debt, inheritance and sharing of goods among individuals are predominant.

What is the Subject of Civil Law?

Throughout life, people are born, grow, develop and form families. However, in some cases, the family institution is damaged due to family problems and sometimes it may result in divorce. Divorce and the protection of children, if any, can be a problem from time to time. In order to manage all these in the best way, supporting the family within the scope of Civil Law and protecting the family and raising children well until they grow up bring some responsibilities. A large part of the relationships that a person engages in from birth to death are also regulated by civil law.

  • A person’s rights and capacity to act, their terms and contents;
  • Elements of personality, internal and external preservation of personality;
  • A person’s relationship with relatives and a particular place (kinship and residence);
  • Establishing a permanent life partnership with another person of the same sex (marriage),
  • Relationships between spouses, parents and children due to marriage are matters within the scope of civil law.
